How we vet cabinetmakers
Every badge on the site means one specific thing that we checked. Here is the full list.
| Badge | What it means | How we check | Re-checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| ✓ Verified business | A registered Canadian business that builds or finishes cabinetry itself (not a reseller) | BN or provincial registry lookup, a shop video call or visit, and 3 recent project photos with addresses | Yearly |
| ✓ Liability insured | Carries commercial general liability of at least $2M | Certificate of insurance on file | At expiry |
| ✓ Written warranty | Gives customers a written warranty on workmanship | Copy of the warranty document | Yearly |
| Showroom | Has a space where you can see finishes in person | Address confirmed | Yearly |
Reviews
- Reviews come from homeowners who requested a quote through the site, or whose project the shop confirms.
- We publish negative reviews. Shops can reply publicly but can’t remove them.
- A rating shows only once a shop has at least 3 reviews.
How results are ranked
“Best match” blends rating, number of reviews, verification and distance from you. Paid plans do not change ranking. Featured listings appear in separate, clearly labelled spots.
What we don’t check
We don’t inspect every job or guarantee a result. Always get a written contract, a clear scope and a payment schedule tied to milestones.
Report a problem
If a listed shop doesn’t meet these standards, email trust@findacabinetmaker.ca. We review every report within 5 business days.
